Betway ambassador Andy Roddick returns to make Wimbledon* history

The three times Wimbledon finalist is back on Center Court for one last chance at victory. Blasting through seven matches to be crowned champion of Wimbledon… North Dakota.

LONDON, June 28, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Despite an illustrious career that included 32 titles and winning the US Open, Betway is a Global Tennis Ambassador, Andy Roddick never quite managed to win Wimbledon. This year, however, Andy finally achieved his goal Wimbledon glory. The American tennis star’s long-awaited victory was far from the assembled Centre Court of SW19, as he claimed victory 6,000 kilometres away on the centre (and only) court of WimbledonNorth Dakota.

12 years after the former world number 1 retired, leading global online betting and gaming brand Betway decided it was time to give Roddick the edge he needed to lay his hands on a Wimbledon trophy. With the brand launching a campaign to set up a tournament in Wimbledon, North Dakota – a rural community in the heart of America’s Midwest with just 144 residents.

Although, unlike his experiences playing in the British Grand Slam, Andy had to do more than just play his way to victory. The tennis pro instead had to build his own Center Court, recruit his own opponents from the local community and even explain the tournament rules to them.

Competing against real locals, it was unsurprising that Andy breezed through his seven matches to ultimately be crowned ‘Wimbledon Champion’.North Dakota)’ in what will certainly be the easiest, but equally strangest tournament of his career.

Roddick isn’t the only one getting the advantage this summer, however, as the tennis ace has given his insights with his top five predictions for this year’s tournament.
