Angel Reese slammed by fans for ‘hot potato’ shots despite setting WNBA record

CHicago Sky rookie Angel Reese made headlines again, but this time not just for her impressive stats. One X user, @alxshier, couldn’t resist poking fun at it from Reese missed shots. They posted a screenshot of a portion of Sunday’s game log, in which Reese miss three consecutive close shots, grab three rebounds and then finally make the fourth shot. The caption read, “Angel Reese just plays a hot potato off the backboard.”

The post went viral, garnering over 1.3 million views on X and sparking a hilarious series of comments. One fan joked: “‘She averages double-doubles,’ yeah I hope so. Eight of her rebounds come from her layups.” Another joined in the conversation: “ANGEL REESE WITH ANOTHER DOUBLE DOUBLE!!! Yes, and half of them are her own mistakes.”

Reese continues to break records
