Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu play mixed doubles at Wimbledon

LONDON — Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu will play together in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon, it was announced on Wednesday, a pairing of two of the biggest stars in British tennis.

Murray, 37, has three Grand Slam titles to his name, including at the All England Club in 2013 and 2016. Raducanu, 21, won the US Open in 2021 at the age of 18, becoming the first qualifier to win a major trophy.

Murray withdrew from Wimbledon singles on Tuesday, just over a week after undergoing surgery to remove a cyst from his spine. He is also entered for the men’s doubles with his older brother, Jamie.

Murray has said this will be his last appearance in the tournament, as he plans to retire after the Paris Olympics, which begin later this month.

The All England Club awarded Murray and Raducanu wildcards in the mixed doubles on Wednesday. The Murray brothers were given wildcards in the men’s doubles last week.

Raducanu was scheduled to play her second round singles match against Elise Mertens at Wimbledon on Wednesday.
