Alex Pereira Receives 3K Bonus From Boss Dana White For UFC 303 Knockout: Coach Plinio Cruz

Alex Pereira Receives $303K Bonus From Boss Dana White For UFC 303 Knockout: Coach Plinio Cruz

Dana White apparently made Alex Pereira’s $303k bonus wish come true. Fans who watched UFC 303 will know that ‘Poatan’ asked for the bonus amount during his octagon interview with Joe Rogan. And according to his coach Plinio Cruz, White complied.

Pereira continued his dream run in the UFC with another submission win over Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303. His dominance in the octagon has earned him immense fame and made him one of the biggest stars on the current UFC roster.

However, it is his tendency to stay active and accept fights on short notice that stands out most to both fans and Dana White.

But it didn’t just happen.

Cruz revealed that White initially only awarded Pereira the usual $50,000 bonus amount. But the 54-year-old couldn’t resist Pereira’s “$303k bonus” wish after being reminded that despite his great performance, the Brazilian did not receive the special $300,000 bonus at UFC 300.

“They gave $300k bonuses at UFC 300, and he (Pereira) didn’t get Performance of the Night. He was a little upset about that. Then, because of all the things he’s doing, taking the fight in two weeks, Dana said, ‘You know what, man, I’m going to take care of you. You got a $303k (bonus).”

It goes without saying that Pereira would be a much happier man if his wish came true.

However, his interview in the octagon proved that he has another wish that White may not be so keen to fulfill.

Poatan on Jon Jones’ tail, but White won’t let him bite

The UFC community has been vocal about wanting to see Pereira move up to heavyweight for a few months now. But it was all speculation until Pereira’s UFC 303 in-octagon interview.

‘Poatan’ cleared up the fog over his move up to heavyweight after saying he would be happy to meet fan demand. Current UFC heavyweight champion Jones also revealed he would have no problem fighting Pereira after he is done with Stipe Miocic.

Dana White, however, is still not convinced. The UFC president would like the Brazilian to finish his division before he makes a move to further build his legacy at heavyweight.
